Frederik van Buynder is not only the founder of Wattsup, but also an exceptional athlete with an impressive sporting background. A former professional downhill skier, he competed at the highest level in World Cup races, where speed, precision, and daring combine. His experience in the world of international sport has made Frederik a true expert in outdoor activities, with a particular emphasis on technique, safety, and pure enjoyment.
In addition to his skiing achievements, Frederik has a true passion for mountain biking. As a certified mountain bike instructor and high-level competitor, he brings the same rigor and expertise to every fatbike ride. His attention to detail and in-depth knowledge of the sport make him the ideal guide for tackling any mountain challenge.
During the winter, Frederik combines his work at Wattsup with ski and snowboard lessons in Val d’Isère. He stands out not only for his sporting experience but also for his language skills. Frederik is one of the few instructors in the Tignes-Val d’Isère region who speaks fluent Dutch, a great advantage for Dutch-speaking guests who immediately feel at home. He is also fluent in French, English, German, and Spanish. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, Frederik will always guide you in your own language and share his expertise.

L'activité est gérée par un couple très sympathique et nous y retournerons sans hésiter l'année prochaine.

Expérience absolument incroyable !
La sortie en Fat Bike sur neige à Val d’Isère a été sans conteste l’un des moments forts de notre voyage.
Les vélos étaient stables, le parcours super amusant et les guides, William et son fils, ont rendu l’expérience à la fois sûre et très divertissante !
Je n'ai jamais eu l'impression de lutter avec le vélo électrique ou le terrain ; au contraire, je glisse, admirant chaque crête, chaque pente boisée et chaque panorama alpin de Val d'Isère en été.
J'avais plus l'impression d'explorer avec un ami de longue date que d'être guidé par un inconnu.
Professionnalisme, attention, et une expérience fantastique du début à la fin. J'attends avec impatience l'hiver pour explorer les sentiers enneigés et apprendre à manier le fatbike sur la neige !
